Part One: Ball Mill Working Principle
The ball mill is horizontal cylindrical rotation device, driving by brim gearwhell. There are two charmbers and grid materials goes into the first charmber through the feeding inlet. Inside the first charmber, there are stage lines and ripple liners as well as steel balls with various kinds. The shell rotates which generates eccentricity. This force brings ball to a certain hight and then balls with various drop down by gravity.
The impact is the grinding force to the material. After the primary grinding in the first charmber material goes into the second charmber segregate screen. In the second charmber, there are flat liners and steel balls, after the secondary grinding, materials is discharged through the discharging screen.
Part Two: Usages
Ball mills are cylindrical and are used to grind or mix ores, chemicals, ceramic raw materials and paints. They are used extensively in Mechanical alloying process in which they are not only used for grinding, but for cold welding as well, with the purpose of groducting alloys from powders.
